Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of LiteWork Finance ("the Service", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
LiteWork Finance is a web-based personal budgeting application that lets you track income, expenses, investments, net worth, and financial goals. The Service includes both free and paid features.
The Service is provided "as is" and is intended as a personal finance tracking tool - not financial advice. We are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and do not provide investment, tax, or financial planning advice. Always consult a qualified financial adviser for financial decisions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent.
3. Your Account
- You can sign in using supported authentication methods (for example Google OAuth and Email/Password)
- You are responsible for the security of your chosen sign-in method, including your email inbox and account credentials
- For Email/Password accounts, password reset and email verification are handled through Firebase Authentication email flows
- Some sensitive actions (including account deletion) may require re-authentication with your current sign-in method
- You may not share your account or let others access the Service through your credentials
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to abuse free credits, referral bonuses, or other features is not permitted
4. Free Plan
The free plan includes: income and expense tracking, charts, budgets, net worth tracking, financial goals, year-at-a-glance view, custom categories, CSV export, global search, print, and 1 monthly AI credit (resets each month). There is no time limit on the free plan.
The free plan includes advertising. We reserve the right to modify free plan features with reasonable notice.
5. PRO Subscription
PRO is a paid subscription that unlocks: up to 50 monthly AI credits (for AI Import, Financial Roast/Coach, and Health Reports), ad-free experience, and priority support.
- PRO is billed monthly ($3.99/mo) or annually ($29.99/yr) through Creem
- Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
- You can cancel anytime - you keep PRO access until the end of the current billing period
- Refunds are handled in accordance with Creem's refund policy and applicable UK consumer law. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you may be entitled to a refund within 14 days of purchase if the digital content is faulty. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period for distance purchases of digital content. By subscribing, you consent to immediate access to PRO features, and you acknowledge that this may affect your right to cancel during the cooling-off period once the service has been fully provided
5a. Fair Usage Policy
PRO subscribers receive a monthly allowance of 50 AI credits. An "AI operation" includes any use of AI Import, Financial Roast, Coach mode, or Financial Health Report.
- The 50-credit allowance resets on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC)
- AI features (Import, Roast, Health Report) consume credits as described in your account; monthly free and PRO allowances apply. We may apply technical limits to prevent abuse, but normal use is governed by credits only
- If you reach 50 operations in a month, you can purchase credit top-ups to continue using AI features immediately
- Purchased credit top-ups and referral credits are permanent and do not expire
- We may adjust the fair usage allowance with reasonable notice. Any reduction will take effect from the start of your next billing cycle, not mid-cycle
6. Credits
Credits are a pay-as-you-go option for AI features. Different features cost different amounts: AI Import costs 2 credits, Financial Roast costs 1 credit, and Health Report costs 3 credits. Free users receive 1 monthly AI credit and PRO users receive 50 monthly AI credits; monthly credits reset each month. Purchased top-ups and referral credits are permanent and do not expire.
- Credits are purchased in packs (10 for $4.99 or 25 for $9.99) through Creem
- Purchased credits and referral credits do not expire
- Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by UK consumer law. By purchasing credits, you consent to their immediate availability and acknowledge this may affect your cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts
- Referral credits (3 per referral) are awarded when a new user signs up using your referral link
7. Referral Programme
- Each user gets a unique referral link
- When someone signs up using your link, both you and the new user receive 3 free credits
- Self-referrals are not permitted
- We reserve the right to revoke referral credits obtained through abuse, automation, or fake accounts
8. Your Data
You own your financial data. We store it in Google Cloud Firestore on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
- You can export your data at any time via CSV export
- You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the Profile section in the app
- We do not sell your financial data
- We may access limited operational metadata and anonymised/aggregated usage information to operate, secure, support, and improve the service
9. AI Features
AI-powered features (Import, Roast, Coach mode, Health Report) use Google's Gemini AI to process your data. By using these features:
- You understand that relevant feature data is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing (for example: statement content, transaction summaries, and selected mode)
- AI outputs (categorisations, roasts, reports) are generated content and may contain errors - always review results before accepting
- We are not responsible for inaccuracies in AI-generated categorisations or advice
- AI features are subject to rate limits (see the app for current limits)
10. Cookies and Analytics
LiteWork Finance uses essential cookies/local storage for login, security, and core functionality. Non-essential analytics is optional and controlled through our consent controls.
- You can accept, reject, or manage analytics cookies when prompted
- If you reject non-essential cookies, analytics remains disabled
- You can change your preference at any time using "Cookie settings" in the site footer
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to manipulate credits, subscriptions, or referral rewards through exploits
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from server-side functions
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Service
- Submit malicious content through AI features (e.g. prompt injection attempts)
- Use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any illegal activity
- Interfere with the Service's operation or other users' access
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice.
12. Availability and Changes
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
- Maintenance or third-party outages (Google, Creem, Netlify) may temporarily affect the Service
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We are not liable for any financial losses resulting from use of the Service, AI-generated outputs, or decisions made based on data shown in the app
- Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you also retain any mandatory protections provided by the law of the country where you reside.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
